Growing up and current!

Just to kick off the blog, here is a short one! My Dad being in a transferable job with ONGC, India, I've had the opportunity of living at various places in India. There are both pros and cons of having lived at so many places and spending only 2-3 years at most of these place. For people not familiar with Indian geography, it is worthwhile to note that the below places are scattered all over India. It gave me a great opportunity to learn some really interesting things, specially given the fact that India is such a huge country with tremendous diversity (I really doubt if there is any other country in the world which offers this diversity). Moving from North to South or East to West, you will hear people speaking different languages (yes, different languages, NOT dialects) every 200 KMs or so, wearing different clothes, eating different food, change in skin color (I'm no racist but it is a perceivable change that is very obvious for anyone), practicing different rituals etc. I can go on and on with India's diversity, but I will stop here for the time being.

Places where I’ve lived for an extended period of time (read at least an year) listed chronologically –

New York City, New York, US

Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India

Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India

Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, India

Vadodara, Gujarat, India

Khambhat, Gujarat, India

Silchar, Assam, India

Karaikal, Pondicherry, India

Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

I’m going to be writing my personal experiences/views of each of these places soon, but for now I’ve added the hyperlinks.

Note – I’ve NEVER lived at any place for more than 4 years (at Vellore for college). Next closest being my current location – New York; hopefully I will get to stay here for a long time to come.
